paintings as layers
different things i have tried, to bring the idea of paintings for each layer during the process of making the sheets. taken with the awesome camera phone in multiple exciting angles.
definitely interesting to replicate a four inch drawing from my sketchbook into a ten foot painting.

a fashion design student wanted to experiment with some scraps of paint sheets i had. maybe future collaboration.
the four tests
pushing myself to create larger scale pieces, i have begun to explore the manipulation of my paintings (sheets of paint) by draping over objects. in doing so i have discovered new forms and new ways to begin to come off the wall.
string theory
string is laid across and covered with each layer of paint
the goal is to create thirty layers of paint with roughly 150 strings, which will then be pulled off to hopefully create fissures in the sheet of paint
lost fossils
trying to carve out representational forms in some of my new work, and use the abstract design for more of a decorative approach
