started working on a new paint wheel, tire, circle, i still don't know what to call these. i plan on making this one big, not sure how big yet, but it will be big enough. i should probably keep track on the square footage of the sheets for reference, but i don't think i will worry about the amount of layers, but then again i might still keep track. so for now here is a beginning progress image, next to a hippopotamus for scale. and yes, that is a real life hippopotamus toy, yeah it is that big.
well, not sure what I was expecting
what can i say about this piece, other than i would be lying to myself if i said i liked it. the strings were harder to pull out but i kind of knew there was that possibility, and even if i get all the strings out i don't think there will be much of a difference than what is shown now.
i keep seeing the same thing, and i might not be fully satisfied until it is manipulated and becomes something different...

a new way to read
the first image is from the book, the art of looking sideways by . different formats of text are used to express am idea. it's a collage of images. in this example the use of in its definition is capitalized, and red. it also rotates the letter to further explain the history. the page also includes a photograph with a caption sill related to the paragraph above.
the second image is from the book, house of leaves by . paragraphs are rotated, a square is introduced, color, correction, footnotes, it looks like a mess, but at the same time meat and organized.
the last image is the beginning if my thoughts for a project, combined with a pattern drawing that still in a way relates to some of the ideas. it's ideas from these images that i am using as inspiration to create my brainstorming prints. combining different ways to read even with just a simple thing as rotating text, but also have images integrated into the text.
