the white area on the left is a sheet of paint that has had 10 layers applied. what i am showing is the process of the the 11th and last layer which consists of me just adding color. this sheet was created specifically for the 10 foot pillars. oh and the sheet's dimensions are roughly 5x22 feet.
shavings, splatter, sandpaint (part 2)
all i had was wheels now it's all cylinders, and instead of focusing on the wrapping and having that become the texture and detail, i have gone back to my initial technique of removing paint. by carving, shaving, scratching, peeling, using xacto knives, box cutter blades, and dremel. it seems that each day i discover new textures, simply by the way i use the tools.

hello/bye
i am in the process of getting more paint so i have not been creating as much as i would like to and therefore have not been posting anything. what i have been doing is to begin thinking of future projects and ways to integrate brown bear as much as i can. i have also started to work on a video for my digital culture class. nothing too complicated though, because there is a possibility that i wont like the finish product due to my lack of video skills, so i need enough time to create a new project. for now just a still image of the video.
back to normal
after a couple weeks of feeling stuck and coming close to completely becoming frustrated, i have organized my thoughts and i am back to doing what really matters this semester, experiment, and create anything and everything i want, the more the better. presentation is an important part of the work, but i might not figure this part out until the day comes to present and thats fine with me. i am still actively thinking on how to create a transition between pieces, small and large, and different styles of paint experimentations. the mind transitions through memories in simple ways, where a key element or set of elements trigger a new memory, it could also be something obvious in the memory that causes the transition. so a simple clear transition between pieces might be the best way to show a wide range of experiments.
